St. Joseph Academy Receives $2 Million Donation

Jeff and Angela Umosella, and family, have pledged $2 million to the school. The $2 million gift was announced during St. Joseph Academy’s (SJA) Open House held on October 14, 2021. The gift will be provided to the school over the next four years and marks the largest gift in SJA’s history.

“This is an amazing day for us. The tremendous generosity and support from the Umosella family will allow us to continue to grow and pursue new opportunities for students and faculty,” said SJA President Stephen Cappuccio.

New Turf Field To Come For St. Joseph Academy

Saint Joseph Academy (SJA) is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the Town of Hammonton to develop a new turf field located at the Hammonton Recreational Complex at 1111 Moss Mill Road. The field will be available to host football, boys’ and girls’ soccer and lacrosse, field hockey practices, and other sports-related games and events.

Pursuant to the agreement, the new turf field will be shared by SJA’s athletic teams and Hammonton youth organizations and provide a superior playing surface. Saint Joseph Academy (SJA) enthusiastically announces that Stephen Cappuccio has been named President and Head of School. Cappuccio is a highly regarded educational leader who has demonstrated a consistent and proven record over the course of his 18 years at Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, New Jersey.

Since 2019, Cappuccio has served as the Dean of Academics where he oversaw the academic program and was responsible for the supervision and evaluation of 80 employees. Student Appreciation Day 2021

May 6th we celebrated all of our SJA students at our Student Appreciation Day. The students began the day with a school-wide scavenger hunt, they enjoyed food, played games, and ended the day with powderpuff football!

Awards were given out to our junior and senior students who had completed Dual Credit Courses with Atlantic Cape Community College. Prizes were also given to students who showed off their school spirit and to the sophomore class who won our Poster Contest!

We are so lucky to have the most amazing students here at SJA!

Our Global Leadership Program (GLP), featuring Model UN (United Nations), focuses on real-world issues and provides diverse, interdisciplinary, cross-cultural experiences. Students perform ambassador roles while debating topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more. The program is dedicated to empowering young Americans with tools and experiences that prepare them to be the next generation of global leaders.
