SJA Community,
I am pleased to welcome Mr. Bryce Young to the Saint Joseph Academy Community as Director of Communications and Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach. Mr. Young will be tasked with heading our communications department, a role well-suited for him as he previously served in this role at St. Augustine Prep. This position will afford SJA the opportunity to improve its external and internal communication. Mr. Young will also play a vital role in the admissions process for prospective students.
As you may or may not have heard, SJA will be launching men’s and women’s lacrosse in the Spring of 2023. If you know anything about lacrosse you would already be aware of Bryce Young as he is one of the best lacrosse players in the world and has been a champion at every level. Having taught, coached, and worked with Bryce, I know him to be an extremely dedicated and hard worker but more importantly a man of genuine character that will be an asset to our school community.
Mr. Young was an elite player at the University of Maryland. During his tenure in College Park, the Terps made it to the NCAA Championship game three out of his four years. Young won a national title with UMD in 2017 as a junior. He was selected as USILA All-American twice and was a captain for Maryland in 2018.
Currently, Bryce is playing professionally as a defender in the Premier Lacrosse League for the Whipsnakes LC. Young was selected as a PLL All-Star in 2019 and has won back-to-back world championships, in 2019 and 2020, with the Whips.
I am excited for Mr. Young joining the SJA Community as we continue to grow and cement our place as a legitimate destination for young women and men throughout southern New Jersey!
In St. Joseph Our Patron,
Stephen Cappuccio
